Bogotá’s Galería Sextante celebrated the opening of an exhibition entitled Cercanías, chronicling the works of Venezuelan photographer Carlos Eduardo Hellmund. The son of a prolific photographer, Hellmund began his artistic career at the age of 15 and quickly rose to become one of Venezuela’s most recognized eyes. Particularly notable are his colorful and emotional photos of the Far East and his dramatic landscapes. The gala was attended by the artist and his wife, along with personal friends, collectors and important figures from the Colombian art world.
