If you plan on starting that first art collection and don’t have a big budget for the well-respected names exhibiting at the Bogotá International Art Fair ARTBO, then head over to the Centro Creativo Textura (Cra. 54 n.° 5C- 33) for the fourth edition of the Feria del Millón-Club Colombia art event.

Starting Saturday, October 29, the fair allows visitors to purchase works priced for one million pesos or less, and during this fourth edition, thousands will descend on the floors of the industrial hangar in the Puente Aranda district to browse works by artists selected in an open contest and invited to deal one-on-one with potential buyers.

More than 10,000 visitors attended last year, and this year, with the sponsorship of Colombia’s most emblematic beer brand – Club Colombia – the event continues to position itself as an independent art space, where new talent is promoted by sponsorship, such as Club Colombia’s Expresiones de Maestría campaign, that backs art events which help emerging artists reach a larger audience.

This year’s fair selected 56 artists, as well as three from the Colsanitas Award (Pablo Arrazola. Luis Miguel Zea and Juan Sebastián Testa). The invited artist is cartoonist and editorial illsutrator, Matador. Among the ten mentors of the fair who have adopted 10 students of art, are Miler Lagos, María Elvira Escallón, Libia Posada, Luis Roldán and Santiago Cárdenas.

Representing all mediums, including photography, the Feria del Millón is a once-a-year opportunity to connect with an alternative marketplace and help emerging artists not represented by galleries. The admission price is $10,000 and necessary to help this inclusive art project keep going. So start your collection with a good cause.
