Bogotá’s iconic Teatro Colón kicks off its 2016 season with two versions of Macbeth — the opera by Giuseppe Verdi and the theatrical version by William Shakespeare. Though artistically different, both performances tell the same story of lust for power and tragic greed.

The Macbeth double header is part of a broader focus on literary giants Shakespeare and Cervantes, both of whom died 400 years ago this year.

Both Macbeth works boast world renowned casts of Colombian and international actors, vocalists and production team members.
