On November 4 and 5, Bogotá will experience the world premiere of Espíritu de Pájaro, symphonic work with contemporary dance at Teatro Colón. With a score by the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and performance by the Cuerpo de Indias Company of El Colegio del Cuerpo, this original composition by Colombian maestro Diego Vega is under the artistic direction and choreography of El Colegio del Cuerpo’s Álvaro Restrepo and conductor Juan Felipe Molano. Commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia by composer Diego Vega, Espíritu de Pájaro is dedicated to the nation’s indigenous communities and inspired by poems by authors such as camëntsá Hugo Jamioy, yanacona Fredy Chikangana and Wayuu Vito Apüshana. The very title of the work takes its name from the homonymous poem by Fredy Chikangana.
Espíritu de Pájaro will have two performances on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, at 7:30 p.m., at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá.
