Colombian music director Andrés Orozco-Estrada returns to Teatro Mayor to conduct Giacomo Puccini’s epitome romantic opera – Tosca – along with the National Symphony Orchestra and Youth Choirs of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra.
This co-production between Teatro Mayor and La Compañía Estable premiered in 2021, and returns as part of the theatre’s 2023 opera season with stage direction by Pedro Salazar. The cast includes Austrian soprano Martina Serafin in the leading role as Floria Tosca; UK tenor Adam Smith as Mario Cavaradossi; Argentine baritone Fabián Veloz as Scarpia; Colombian baritone Jacobo Ochoa as Cesare Angelotti; Colombian baritone Valeriano Lanchas as the Sacristan; and tenor Manuel Franco as the Roman police chief Spoletta.
The opening performance takes place February 24 at 8:00pm and tickets range in price from COP$45,000 (upper balcony) to COP$280,000.
