Starting November 17, Colombia’s flagship airline Avianca and Star Alliance member will begin a new direct flight, four days a week, between Bogotá and Chicago.

The new service with an Airbus A319 will depart Bogotá’s El Dorado on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 2:58 pm, arriving at Terminal A in Chicago O’Hare International at 8:38 p.m.

The Chicago-Bogotá flight will depart on the same days, at 10:01 p.m., arriving the following morning at 5:15 a.m.

Chicago becomes the 12th North American destination for Avianca. The airline currently operates direct flights between Bogotá and Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C.

The day before Avianca launches its new service to Chicago, the Colombian carrier will also begin a five day a week flight to Munich, Germany, with a Boeing Dreamliner 787-900. Munich becomes the third European destination to have a direct connection with the Colombian capital. Avianca operates a daily flight from Bogotá to Madrid’s Barajas, Barcelona’s El Prat and London’s Terminal 4.
