The Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra (OFB), and Guest Conductor Enrique Diemecke (Mexico) will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, known as the ‘Tragic Symphony’ on March 19, 5:00 pm.
Bogota Philharmonic Orchestrawas founded in 1967 to democratize musical culture, promote the practice ofchamber music, direction and dissemination of symphonic music, and during more than a half-century has performed the complete works of Mahler, Bruckner and Bartók, to name a few.The Orchestra continues to perform alongside national and international recording artists such as Totó La Momposina, Puerto Candelaria, China Moses, Miguel Poveda, Petit Fellas, Manuel Medrano, Juanes, Aterciopelados, and Herencia de Timbiquí.
The OFB received a Latin Grammy in 2008 for Best Instrumental Album with ’40 años’, and in 2018, a second Grammy for Rafa Sardina’s sound engineering on the album ’50 años tocando para ti’.
