Kyiv Virtuosi Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine)

The Kyiv Virtuosi Symphony Orchestra is one of the most recognized in Ukraine. As the country endures an illegal invasion of its sovereign territory by Russia, just having the renowned musicians come to Teatro Mayor is an outstanding achievement for this cultural centre and theatre.

The artistic staff of this youthful orchestra convey a spirit of hope and determination and many of its accomplished musicians have won prestigious classical music competitions. The orchestra’s current director, cellist Dmitry Yablonsky, has worked to spread the work of Eastern European composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Valentin Silvestrov and Myroslav Skoryk.
