Corazones Solitarios at Museo Casa Grau

A new kitch art exhibition opens at Museo Casa Grau for just one week in December and takes the Spanish title Corazones Solitarios (Lonely Hearts). This exhibition is the lastest artistic project by the Sumerce group and explores religious themes through the pop art aesthetic and mass produced imagery. The exhibition incorporates iconic elements from different cultures and religious traditions.

Altars to the Virgin Mary, the Divine Child and Sacred Heart of Jesus are the protagonists of Lonely Hearts and displayed as striking scenic boxes and collages. With this artistic project, María Mercedes Sánchez, visual artist and author of the exhibition, articulates cultural elements that shape relationships between people and religious figures. Using materials that come from these iconographies, she stages a world of imaginaries.

The exhibition will be open to the public at Casa Grau Museum, Calle 94 No 7-48, from December 6 to 13. Admission is free.
